Key Points

• Period of time in Labor where your cervix is finishing opening (last 2 cm), FINAL STAGE
• Usually the shortest, most intense, stage of labor.
• Contractions within 2-3 min, double-peaked contractions, contractions lasting 1.5-2 minutes, finalizing the opening of the cervix.
• Often, mood will transition to "I'm done with labor"
• Very intense part of labor, might be a good time to ask for check of dilation. Confirmation of this can be nice to know.
